NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University hosted the Louisiana Association of College and University Auditors (LaCUA) for their Fall 2009 conference Oct. 15-16.
Delegates at the conference represented Bossier Parish Community College, Grambling State University, Louisiana Board of Regents, Louisiana Community and Technical College System, Louisiana State University System, Louisiana Tech University, McNeese State University, Southeastern Louisiana University, Tulane University, University of Louisiana at Monroe and the University of Louisiana System. The LSU Health Sciences Centers of New Orleans, New Orleans-Compliance, and Shreveport and Health Care Services of Baton Rouge were also represented.
Speakers addressed topics related to audit findings and emerging issues, moveable property and white collar crime. The conference ended with a business meeting and round table table discussion.
“In addition to providing continuing professional education credit, these meetings also are a valuable resource to the internal auditor,” said Liz Gresham, internal auditor for NSU. “Whether it is through networking with other Louisiana auditors of higher education, and/or information provided by knowledgeable guest speakers, we are better informed and educated of current professional standards, as well as current trends, emerging risks, evolving audit processes, and ideas to better assist us in maintaining our role as a value added resource in assisting University administration in the achievement of University goals and objectives.”
NSU previously hosted the conference in May 2001.
