NATCHITOCHES – Carley McCord of Baton Rouge was named winner of the 51st annual Miss Northwestern – Lady of the Bracelet Scholarship Pageant held Saturday in the A.A. Fredericks Auditorium at Northwestern State University.

     McCord, a senior criminal justice/Spanish major will represent Northwestern in the 2010 Miss Louisiana Pageant. She received more than $6,000 in scholarships and prizes.

     Whitney Mixon of Hammond was first runner up and Haley Warrick of Many was second runner up.

     McCord is a Dean’s List student and has been a Presidential Ambassador and a student recruiter. She is a member of Sigma Sigma Sigma Sorority.

     Mixon won the swimsuit and evening wear competition while Jessica Lopez of Henderson, Texas, won the talent competition. Lauren Waguespack of Gonzales was named Miss Congeniality and  Whitney Wilson of Haughton won the  Liz Carroll People’s Choice Award selected by the pageant audience.
