Buildings evacuated due to bomb threat at LSMSA

NATCHITOCHES – Several buildings on the Northwestern State University campus were evacuated Monday after a bomb threat was called into the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts. The LSMSA, a residential high school, is located on the Northwestern State campus.
University police at Northwestern State evacuated buildings adjacent to the Louisiana School including Fournet Hall, Morrison Hall, the Family and Consumer Sciences Building, Kyser Hall, Williamson Hall, Bienvenu Hall, Russell Hall, the A.A. Fredericks Center for Creative and Performing Arts and the Friedman Student Union. Classes in these buildings have been canceled. The NSU Alumni Center has also been evacuated. Watson Library was closed at 1 p.m.
The Caspari Street exit to the Northwestern State campus is closed.
University police along with Natchitoches police, the Natchitoches Parish Sheriff’s Office and Louisiana State Police are on the scene.
