Freshman Connection going on the road

NATCHITOCHES – Northwestern State University will hold sessions of its freshman orientation program, Freshman Connection, on its Alexandria campus June 5 and on the Leesville/Fort Polk campus June 7.

The Alexandria campus is located at the Learning Center for Rapides Parish at 1410 Neel Kearby Drive. The Leesville/Fort Polk campus is located at 3329 University Parkway in Leesville.


The fee is $60. Those attending the sessions on the Alexandria and Leesville/Fort Polk campuses should be planning to take all classes on that campus.

Check-in on the Alexandria campus begins at 8 a.m. in the Regents Room Atrium. The program begins at 9 a.m. in the Regents Room. Check-in on the Leesville-Fort Polk campus begins at 8 a.m. in the Main Building Lobby. The program begins at 9 a.m. in Building 551, Room 3.

Those who attend Freshman Connection can expect small group sessions, opportunities to connect with future classmates, an introduction to NSU student services and involvement opportunities, a chance to become familiar with their campus and an opportunity to meet with an academic advisor who will help participants understand their major and schedule of classes and register for the fall semester.
