Job description: As a counselor in the Counseling & Career Services Center, I provide counseling (individual, couple, marriage and family) to university students, faculty and staff experiencing stress-related difficulties, life crises and /or other personal difficulties. I provide outreach services to residence halls, clubs and organizations and I provide on-call assistance to students involved in crisis situations. I am also an instructor for University Studies 1000 and advisor to BACCHUS (Boosting Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students), a recognized student organization at NSU that promotes health and wellness in all areas of life. My duties also include conducting seminars and presentations on personal development issues to the Natchitoches and Northwestern State University communities and serving on NSU’s Prevention Task Force, a committee consisting of students, faculty and staff with a focus on providing alcohol, drug and sexual violence prevention resources and programs for students, faculty and staff.
