Leesville nursing students engage in service

Second level nursing students from Northwestern State University’s Fort Polk/Leesville campus collected over 300 pairs of socks and numerous bottles of bath soap for the residents of Westwood Manor Nursing Nursing Home. “The students were determined to find a way to thank the staff and the residents for their educational support and for allowing them to develop their role as professional registered nurses,” said Deborah Hickman, assistant professor of nursing. “I am so proud of these hard working successful nursing students who have a desire to give back to the their community.” Kneeling are Darren Paris, Katie Jarrell, Jessica Rodger, Kelsey Cook and Kelsey Corley.
