NSU charters pre-law society chapter
International fraternity promotes professional integrity

NATCHITOCHES – Charter members of Northwestern State University’s new pre-law chapter of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity International were sworn in Monday during a ceremony in which new members pledged to advance integrity, compassion and courage through service to their profession and community.

Paxson Guest of Bossier City initiated the charter and took the oath as chapter president. Officers are Bailee Cartwright of Holdenville, Okla., vice president; Tschissakid Player of Cedar Hill, Texas, secretary, and Katie Acosta of Thibodaux, treasurer. Charlie Penrod, professor of business law at Northwestern State, is the chapter’s faculty advisor.

New members are Brent Legendre of Baton Rouge, Shawnice Christmas of Maringouin, Alyssa Buker of St. Amant, Sarah Scott of Bossier City, Randall Briggs of Pollock, Travis Kananack of Ojai, Calif.; George Broussard of Sulphur, William Chase James of Natchitoches and Tucker Nims of Lafayette.

Byron K. Rupp, director of pre-law operations for Phi Alpha Delta, conducted the swearing in ceremony.
