Natchitoches Young Professionals presented a check for $1,000 raised during the group’s third annual St. Patrick’s Day Pub Crawl to members of the litter committee from Northwestern State University’s President’s Leadership Program to fund their litter abatement campaign/community impact project, “Fork Litter.” The “Fork Litter” campaign committee applied for the grant from NYP and volunteered to work at the event, held March 18 in downtown Natchitoches. The President’s Leadership Program for first-year students is designed to promote active involvement in the community and provide leadership opportunities for students to build leadership skills. NYP is a branch of the Natchitoches Area Chamber of Commerce for young and future business leaders ages 21-40.
