NATCHITOCHES – Student artist Kris Daisy of Morgan City will present her senior exhibition, “Through the Storm,” Dec. 3-14 in Gallery 2 of Northwestern State University’s Creative and Performing Arts Annex. The series of paintings were inspired mostly by nature, including scenes near her hometown on the Atchafalaya River. The artist will host an opening reception at 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 3 at the gallery.

“The storm is inside of us all. It evokes emotion. It brings inevitable change. It can destroy; it can rebuild; it can take; it can give. The storm is inevitable, it’s what you do when it comes that makes the difference,” said Daisy in describing the series.

Gallery Coordinator and instructor of art Leslie Gregory Gruesbeck expressed enthusiasm over Daisy’s exhibition.

“This semester, we have been really pleased to showcase so many talented graduating seniors. It is a fitting end to our semester to feature Ms. Daisy’s exhibition,” Gruesbeck said.

Hours for Gallery 2 are 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 8 a.m.-noon Fridays. For more information or to view Daisy’s work on-line visit
